E-Safety: Pupils & Parents
The internet is a fantastic place to learn, explore, create and connect with others. Children use technology every day for learning, games, communication and entertainment, and when used safely, it can be a valuable and enjoyable part of everyday life.
However, it is important to remember that being online also comes with responsibilities and risks. At Measham CE Primary School, we are committed to helping children develop the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe, respectful and responsible online.
We encourage all children to speak to a trusted adult if they ever see something online that makes them feel worried, upset or uncomfortable. Help is always available at school, and children should never feel afraid to ask for support.
Top Tips for Staying Safe Online
Keep Personal Information Private
Never share personal information online, including:
-
Full name
-
Home address
-
Phone number
-
School name
-
Passwords
-
Photos without permission
Think Before You Click
Not everything online is true. If something seems suspicious, too good to be true or makes you uncomfortable, speak to a trusted adult.
Be Kind and Respectful
Treat others online as you would in person. Never send unkind messages or share content that could upset someone else.
Keep Online Friends Online
Only communicate with people you know in real life. If someone you do not know contacts you online, tell a trusted adult immediately.
Use Strong Passwords
Create passwords that are difficult to guess and never share them with friends.
Ask for Help
If something online worries you, stop what you are doing and talk to a parent, carer, teacher or another trusted adult.
Reporting Concerns
If you are worried about online behaviour, child exploitation, online grooming or any form of abuse online, you can report it directly to CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command).
CEOP helps children and young people stay safe online and provides advice, support and reporting tools for serious concerns.
