Year 2 Badgers
Welcome to Badgers.
Class Teacher: Mrs Beighton
Learning Support: Miss Pyecroft
As we enter the final half-term of the summer, I wanted to share the exciting learning opportunities planned for the Badgers Class!
English
We will be working on writing our own recounts, and we have something very special planned to inspire the children. On Wednesday 4th June, Miss Pyecroft's puppy, Murphy, will be visiting our playground for an hour! The children will have the chance to walk him, groom him, and teach him some tricks. Afterwards, they will write an exciting recount all about their experience with Murphy.
Maths
We will continue learning to tell the time — thank you so much for your support at home, which has really had a positive impact in the classroom. Later in the half-term, we will move on to statistics, where the children will be creating their own tally charts and interpreting graphs.
Wider Curriculum
In Science, we will be learning about plants, and then moving on to exploring the local area, including a fieldwork trip around Measham (details to follow). We will finish the year by learning about the history of space exploration, which I’m sure the children will love!
PE
PE will continue to be every Thursday and Friday. Please ensure children come to school wearing their PE kit as usual.
Reading Books
Reading books will continue to be changed every Monday and Thursday. Please remember to write a note in your child’s reading record when the book has been finished so we can provide them with a new one.
Thank you for your continued support with your children’s learning. We are looking forward to a fantastic last five weeks and three days together!
