Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Meet Our Governors

Gareth Newman (Interim Chair) - I am Parent Governor. I have two children at the school and work as Assistant Headteacher at a large primary academy in Birmingham.

Gill Brooks - My name is Gill Brooks.  I am Co Vice-Chair of governors along with Helen Phillips.  I have worked in education for 30 years, most of those with very young children. 13 years ago I qualified as a Forest School Leader.  I have a very keen interest in all areas of Early Years education as well as in the benefits that Forest school brings for children of all ages.  I am married with 2 grown-up children, a son and a daughter and have 4 nearly grown-up grandsons.  I have been a governor at Measham Primary School for over 13 years and for 3 of these I was privileged to be Chair of Governors.  When I am not being a governor I enjoy walking, reading, amateur book-binding and gardening.

Helen Phillips - I am Helen Phillips, joint Vice Chair of Governors. I am a foundation governor which means I have been appointed by the Church. I have been a governor for around 30 years, originally as a parent governor, and have observed many changes and seen the school go from strength to strength.
You may have seen me in school or at St Laurence Church, where I attend regularly and am often involved with fund raising activities.
My background is in industry where I was responsible for quality and health and safety. The experience I gained I bring to the governing board where I take specific interest in health and safety and am on the finance committee.
I live in Measham with my husband and have 2 sons, both who attended this school, and have 2 grandchildren. I have been retired for the last 10 years and, in my spare time, enjoy walking, spending time with my family, taking holidays and travelling.

Jessica Moore - My name is Jessica Moore and I am the EYFS lead here at Measham CE Primary School. I have worked here since 2013, teaching in Year 2 before moving to Year 3 and now EYFS! I am dedicated to providing a fun, exciting and stimulating start to school for every child in the Early Years and am determined to make it a memorable one! As well as this I also lead English across the school and truly believe that promoting a love of reading unlocks a world of opportunities for our children. I am committed to providing the best for all children in our care and believe that together can make this happen.

Hannah Carter (Acting Head) - My name is Hannah Carter and I am Acting Headteacher at Measham CE.  I have worked at here since 2006 when I started as a Year 1/2 teacher.  I have worked my way up the leadership scale through the years, starting as Deputy in 2011. I have a wealth of experience in all aspects of school life and thrive to do the best for all of the children in our care. I am passionate about ensuring that every child is happy and safe in their school environment. Every child should be given the opportunity to achieve their full potential, not only educationally but also in other areas like sport, music or creative arts. I am whole-heartedly committed to providing the best for the children in our care; their education, their mental health and wellbeing and also helping them to achieve their full potential at whatever level that may be.
